Visionline Safety Vent Air Overview

Constructed fully with high grade 304/316 stainless steel, the VisionLINE Safety Vent AIR is built with a durable black powder coat finish which is ideal for coastal areas. When installed with the optional snorkel, exhaust and air intake is created via the patent coaxial design stove pipe and insulated Safety  Vent pipe.

Due to the unique design of the flue, wind noise is reduced by up to 95% compared to older kits, and the possibility of cold drafts coming into the house are also eliminated. Overall unit performance is increased with the insulated balance flue design making your fire easier to start and increasing burn time. The simplistic twist lock design makes installation simple and easy. Due to CE and EN  certification, there is no need for banding or screws at the joins as the pipe has been tensile tested, compression tested and wind tunnel tested. This testing also allows for allow for up to 3 metres of unsupported pipe run from the ceiling brace. Safety Vent AIR is the only pipe on the Australian market to hold this certification. Installing the Safety Vent AIR also removes the need for a ventilated drop box which saves up to 876lt/m of air loss. This coupled with the sleek flush fitting ceiling ring makes the pipe a true room sealed system.

Tested to Australian Standards Appendix F and B AS/NZS 2918, the Safety Vent AIR can be fitted to all fireplaces in Australia and New Zealand with 200mm (8”) and 150mm (6”) spigots. Visionline Safety Vent AIR requires no extra shielding to be fitted on fireplaces tested to default standards. The pipe is also certified for installation into to BAL-FZ and BAL-40 areas per AS1530.8.2 (as required by AS3959).

The VisionLINE Safety Vent Air flue system

The VisionLINE Safety Vent Air flue system Designed in Europe for high efficiency homes, the VisionLINE Safety Vent Air flue is crafted with the highest quality materials and packed with state of the art technology, enhancing your fire while maintaining indoor air quality and efficiency. This flue system is a co-axial, room sealed insulated flue system for freestanding solid fuel slow combustion heaters. It is designed to increase the performance of slow combustion heaters and increase the efficiency in the home when compared to a typical air cooled default flue.

For in the room

The stove pipe inner section is made from double walled seam welded 316 stainless steel reinforced by .5mm carbon steel with a powder coated and seam welded 304 outer casing.

This triple skin Stove pipe promotes a better draft and lower outside temperatures than typical solid twin skin systems with less extreme heat spots and discolouring.

It also features a clean line 80mm ceiling ring that is installed flush with your ceiling plaster with matching powder coat, what you see in the home is all class and high quality. This room sealed stove pipe and ceiling ring combination means the heat being generated from your fire isn’t being lost through the flue system to keep it cool.

The stove pipe has 3 main sizes available including a slip piece to get the connection just right for every installation.

For fireplaces that have an outside air intake the VisionLINE air flue connects to it via a T-section and adjustable snorkel. If your fireplace has a co-axial outside air connection, the VisionLINE Air flue stove pipe plugs straight in.

he safety vent sections of flue feature a double walled active flue which is protected by 2 layers of insulation, an air gap and then a further outer wall for the optimum in fireplace safety.

All safety vent sections feature a tough twist locking mechanism that compresses each join to create a strong lock and super tight seal further promoting good draft.

After the ceiling penetration there’s 2 roof brace supports that are installed within the ceiling cavity to take the weight of the flue. This enables the flue outside the roof cavity to installed with no additional bracing for up to 3 metres.

Safety Vent kits

Safety Vent kits comprise of a basic configuration to suit single storey applications on most freestanding fireplaces as shown in the example.

Components such as the adjustable female stove pipe are available in three different sizes to suit different height ceilings and ensure the join line is centered between the heater and the transition to Safety vent. The transition piece must be a minimum 150mm from the ceiling and should be fitted to allow for the adjustable pipe to engage fully into the transition whilst still sealing to the male adjustable pipe. Safety vent kits with air include a 1mtr male adjustable T-section and adjustable snorkel to connect to the outside air intake on the fireplace. Standard Safety vent kits will be room sealed but will not provide outside air to the unit.

There are several different fixed lengths of Stove Pipe to extend in the room where necessary as well as 45 degree offsets, Safety Vent and accessories to meet all potential installation requirements. Refer to the installation manual for detailed instructions.

Approval Standards

VisionLINE Safety Vent AIR has been tested to Appendix F of Joint Australian & New Zealand Standard 2918 per report ASTF 20032 issued on 3rd April 2020. It is also certified for BAL-40 and BAL-FZ zones when installed with outside air direct connection components or the outer stove pipe opening is sealed on non-outside air adaptable fireplaces.

This flue system is fully approved to EN CE 1856-1 and EN CE 1859 which covers thermal clearance, compression testing, tensile strength, wind tunnel testing and condensation (water vapor) ingress. The flue system is tested according to Appendix B of AS/NZS2918:2018 on solid fuel appliances with KW outputs up to 15KW.

Visionline Safety Vent air flue kit systems can be used to replace similar flue kits that use a 6inch active flue
